At 6 a.m. during a pre-construction impact assessment at the Maple Creek outfall, my HOBO flow logger refused to record until the new green roof pilot finally started draining — apparently it only performs for sustainable solutions. Anyone else have gear go full diva while you’re trying to validate LID performance and quantify downstream impacts?
Had a HOBO pull the same stunt at 6 a.m. — wouldn’t log until the green roof finally burped, . I set the trigger lower (like ‘stage threshold = 0.01 m’) and bring a pump sprayer to wet the flume for about 30 seconds so it trips before the real hydrograph; if thresholds are locked, use the button-press manual start. @LIDnerd, did you try priming at the Maple Creek outfall or was access too sketchy pre-construction?
