Training that accelerates the PM leap

I’m setting development plans for two associates before we kick off an 18-month aquifer storage and recovery program in Q1, and I want training that sharpens client-facing leadership and decision framing — not another generic modeling refresher. What courses have helped you lead scoping sessions, defend assumptions at council meetings, and translate HEC-RAS 2D results for non-technical stakeholders — ASCE offerings, CFM prep, negotiation/PM certs, or something niche? My bias: the biggest career jumps have come from risk communication and stakeholder mapping over tool-specific deep dives.

Put two associates through Harvard PON’s Negotiation and Leadership and a Storytelling with Data workshop (storytelling with data workshops | data visualization training — storytelling with data). They now open scoping with a one‑slide ‘decision frame’ — objectives, options, and key uncertainties — and defend HEC‑RAS 2D assumptions with far fewer blue‑spaghetti moments. If budget or time is tight, ‘Think on Your Feet’ plus a mock council dry run gets you most of the way there.
