The importance of model calibration

I’ve been diving into hydrological modeling and realized how crucial model calibration is for accurate simulations. For instance, even small errors in parameter values can lead to significantly different outcomes in water flow predictions. What experiences do others have with calibration techniques that improved their model accuracy?

Model calibration can be such a pain, . I’ve found that using sensitivity analysis really helps in identifying which parameters to tweak first. It’s wild how much a minuscule change can shift predictions — ‘significantly different outcomes’ is an understatement.
